KinnardUkes Featured Artists
David is originally from Taiwan and known throughout Asia and China for his concerts, workshops and his passion for the ukulele. He is a huge proponent of the power of music to heal, change lives and bring people together and has written a number of books on ukulele technique and style.
He travels the world promoting the ukulele doing workshops and concerts and recently completed a 2017 European tour with Kimo Hussey in the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany. David is truly a great talent but even more so, he is a great person who makes friends and touches people with his kind heart wherever he goes. It is truly an honor to have him as one of our featured artists.
David is playing a Kinnard Tenor cut-away with Spanish Cedar back and sides and an Adirondack Spruce top. It features the new Z-stock headstock, a side soundport and Padauk binding, fretboard, bridge and faceplate.

Kimo Hussey is known throughout the world as an ambassador of the ukulele. Not only is he an amazing player he is an amazing person and we are thrilled to have him as part of the Kinnard family. Kimo loves playing the uke and he appreciates what is involved in building high quality instruments. Kimo's input, suggestions and collaboration with John and KinnardUkes has been wonderful and so much fun. The result is the development of some very special ukes but even better than that is the blossoming of a great friendship. If you ever have the chance to hear him in concert or take one of his workshops you're in for a real treat!
We are excited to offer the "Kimo Hussey Super Tenor" model. It is a collaboration between Kimo and John and features Cocobolo back and sides with a Sitka spruce top. It has a 19" scale to give Kimo more room for those fancy jazz chords he plays and also a custom 1-9/16 nut for more vertical room. Check out the, "Special Series Ukes", page for more detail. We look forward to Kimo showing off his new Kinnard as he travels the world and thank him for his support of small custom builders.
